Evaluation of the ORIO Project Electrifying Rural Tanzania
The Facility for Infrastructure Development ORIO financed by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims at encouraging public infrastructure development in developing countries. One of ORIO’s projects, Electrifying Rural Tanzania, intends to install local decentralized networks in west and north-western Tanzania and upgrade and repower already installed decentralized networks. In total, 24,000 clients are expected to benefit from these activities. In cooperation with Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and the Georg-August Universität Göttingen, ecol is assigned to evaluate the intervention over a period of four years.
